Once we arrived in Calais, we drove directly to Bruges, Belgium. Originally we had planned on going straight to Brussels but by the time our ferry made it to port it was dark and we were back to driving on the right side on road so we took it easy and went to Bruges, on the recommendation of Will’s parents.
Whenwe arrived, I just was minutes away from having to take a conference call and was in desperate need of internet. We made it off the highway, through the cobblestone streets and finally to what looked like a main square. I hopped out to get internet and quickly take my call while Will parked the car.
It was hard to tell how cute the town was a night but the nightlife was hoppin. We enjoyed the town square’s WiFi, had a cheap beer and a “Kipkorn” and called it a night.
When we woke up the next morning, we were greeted by the most adorable city. It felt like we were walking through a Disneyland-like set, with an amazing farmer’s market and belgium waffles galore. We only had 3 hours to tour, so we power walked the entire city, fell in love with every part and tried our best to document it’s goodness.
